From ancient time every region is famous of own embroidered goods. Especial place takes great, extraordinary clothes

History of origin

Appear of this unique embroidery connected with ancient, tragic, events which happened in Borshchivska land on Ternopilsky region more than five hundreds years ago. This picturesque land was attacked by enemies who plundered villages and killed cruelly all manhood. The women and girls left without husbands, fathers, brothers and sons on sign of mouring, sweared to wear mouring dresses during seven generation. From this time they started to embroider their daily and festive shirts with black threads.

Peculiarities of embroidery

For its making is used bleached homespun burlap, which was made from hemp stalks. The ware was embroidered with black, wool threads. Another colours are used only for outlining the main, dark, ornament.

The cut of these shirts differed littel bit from other kind of special shoulder inserts, which lied of nice folders, adding famale figure some delicacy.

  • The ornaments locate on sleeves according special tree tiers scheme of embroidery which has own special meaning.
  • There several tens technics of embroidery characterize for every region.
  • There are two kinds of those embroideries: daily has ornament only on collar and cuffs and festive – on back, shoulders, chest and along sleeves.
  • Some models are decorated of beads which gets them nice and solemn look.

The modern traditions

Borshchivski shirts are popular till nowadays. The master respect Ukrainian traditions, to make them with love decorating of inventive ornaments. It’s possible to wear those clothes on holiday, at work even at home.

In sale It’s possible to find models embroidered by cross or another kinds of embroidery according special schemes. Hand made goods differ of incredible context so cost more expensive.
